Sixth Chakra Imbalances

Posted By Becky Cochran on February 5, 2010

The sixth chakra is also known as the brow chakra, or the third eye. It is located between the eyebrows, and influences the entire upper portion of the head from the top of the forehead to the tip of the nose. It influences our ability to analyze, think, reason, perceive, understand, discern, dream, imagine and visualize. This chakra, when healthy and fully open also opens up the psychic gift of clairvoyance. On the color spectrum, this chakra resonates with the color indigo blue. This chakra governs our inner vision and imagination, one of our greatest powers.

On a physical level the sixth chakra affects the head, the eyes, all the sense organs, the brain, and the nervous system. It operates in conjunction with the pituitary gland and enhances our memory, our dream state and our ability to learn intellectually and to understand the nature of the world around us.

If the sixth chakra is deficient, or blocked, you may suffer from headaches, dizziness, eyestrain, weak vision, or have difficulty concentrating or focusing. You may also have such afflictions as attention deficit disorder. (more…)

On a physiological level, this chakra influences the throat, thyroid, trachea, esophagus, parathyroid, hypothalamus, neck, mouth, teeth and ears and, when unhealthy or deficient, it affects the health of these physical areas in the body. FOURTH CHAKRA (HEART) - AIR

The fourth chakra is located near your physical heart in the center of the chest. This center, when awakened and healthy, governs your capacity to have compassion, forgiveness, understanding, generosity, empathy, caring and love, for self and others. The heart chakra is the domain of human intimacy; it activates affection, warmth, nurturing, friendship, kindness, patience, and familiarity. On an energetic level, it serves as the gateway from the lower ego or physical self, to the higher soul or spiritual self. The heart is the most important organ in the body, so is the fourth chakra, your spiritual heart center, the most important energy chakra in your psychic make-up. This is because love is the greatest human power we are given and the highest channel of life force available to us.

Third Chakra Deficiency

Posted By Becky Cochran on September 6, 2009

Your third chakra is located in the solar plexus, halfway between the navel and the ribcage. This chakra houses self-direction, personal will-power, intention, physical energy, personal boundaries, protection, and self-control. This chakra, when healthy defines your self-esteem. It is your center of personal power. In the color spectrum, the third chakra vibrates energetically to the color yellow, like a solar disc.

The third chakra influences your objective mind, your intellect, and reason. When healthy it gives you the ability to be mentally clear and make effective decisions concerning your direction in life. The third chakra gives you courage to stick up for yourself, say “no” to the things that don’t serve you, to put up healthy personal boundaries, and remain strong in the face of challenge. When the third chakra is open and healthy you recognize what is important and meaningful in life and you make healthy choices without compromise or fear.

On a physiological level, the third chakra governs the stomach, pancreas, adrenals, upper intestines, gallbladder, and liver as well as the lower back located behind the solar plexus. When your third chakra is deficient you may likely experience problems in these areas of your body.

Your third chakra carries the beliefs you hold about yourself and about the world. Depending upon how open and healthy it is it will reflect such self-defining statements as, “I’m powerful,” “I’m afraid,” “I’m willing,” “I’m unworthy,” “I’m creative and worthwhile.” A person with a weak or deficient third chakra will avoid making decisions look to others to make their decisions, blame others when those decisions do not bring satisfaction, and generally feel worthless. This chakra, when healthy, creates zeal, enthusiasm, and passion for life. When strong it allows us to celebrate life, and the good things it has to offer on the earthly plane. This includes connecting with others, togetherness; good food, good wine, good song, good sex, good laughs, and good times. When healthy it expresses humor, candor, mirth, and spontaneity. Abundance and Past-Lives by Doreen Virtue

Each week on my live, call-in radio show on hayhouseradio.com, I give readings to callers. Since so many people are asking about issues related to abundance, finances, and career, I thought you might find helpful the information that came through a reading that I did on last week’s radio show:

The female caller said that she was doing everything to manifest abundance, but seemed to be blocked.  My reading showed this was a past-life issue, where she was a Buddhist healer / monk at a monastery, where all of her room and board were provided, with no individual salary or payment.

The caller confirmed that in this life she was a healer, who always made enough money for her room & board expenses, but never enough left over for personal savings. She also confirmed that she believed that Buddhism / Hinduism most closely mirrored her beliefs in this lifetime.

The reading confirmed that she was replicating the financial situation of her monk existence. When I meditated upon this reading afterward, I heard that MANY lightworkers had similar past lives of service (in various cultures and countries), with room & board expenses covered . . . (more…)

Imbalances of your First Chakra

Posted By Becky Cochran on August 1, 2009

Our personal power and well being originates in the first chakra. This center, is situated in the energy field at the base of our tailbone.  It establishes our personal access to all that we need in order to survive and grow, providing us with a basic sense of security and safety. It empowers us with the intuitive understanding that we are children of the Universe with the right to attract all that we need in order to grow into our fullest expression in this lifetime. On the color spectrum, this chakra vibrates energetically to the color red.

The first chakra governs eating, the need for shelter, warmth, and comfort and the desire to feel protected.  A well-balanced first chakra results in a feeling of calm and an aura of quiet strength and confidence.  In your body, the first chakra governs the bones, blood, immune system, colon, rectum, legs and feet.  The first chakra’s mission statement is, “I want, I need”.

Signs of an imbalanced first chakra are nagging and persistent insecurities and anxieties, especially those centered your basic need for survival, security, safety , failing to connect with others, feeling isolated and self-conscious like the odd man out, having no sense of community, being unreasonably suspicious of others, and feeling that the world is not a safe place. Other signs are nervousness, anxiety, feeling abandoned and, most of all worry. (more…)

Bedroom Energy

Posted By Becky Cochran on July 27, 2009

Changing the energy in your bedroom promotes a harmonious flow of nourishing and sensual energy. A good bedroom is a bedroom that invites you, lures you in, excites and calms at the same time. A good bedroom is fun and pleasurable to be in, either you are there for a quick nap, or a good night sleep.

To create a good energy in your bedroom, follow the tips below:

Let go of the TV, computer or exercise equipment. The good  energy in your bedroom is destroyed when these items are present in your bedroom.

Have several levels of lighting, or use a dimmer switch to adjust the energy accordingly. Good, appropriate lighting is very important, as light is our # 1 nutrient and one of the strongest manifestation of energy. Candles are the best energy bedroom lighting, but be sure to buy candles with no toxins.

Use colors to achieve a good energy balance in your bedroom.  Your bedroom decor should be balanced decor that promotes the best flow of energy for restorative sleep, as well as sexual healing. Best energy colors for the bedroom are considered the so-called “skin colors”, and we know the colors of human skin vary from pale white to rich chocolate brown. Choose colors within this range that will work best for your bedroom decor. (more…)

Eliminate Negative Self-Talk

Posted By Becky Cochran on July 13, 2009

Negative self-talk, the chatter in the mind, is one of the most destructive habits we have, because it is almost impossible to shut it off or walk away from it. This chatter is with us every day and night, heckling us and tearing down our self-image and self-esteem. Chatter can originate from a variety of sources: parents, siblings, authority figures, the self and others.

Frequently parents or others impose expectations upon us or use us as an escape valve to vent their anger, hurt or frustration in life. This abuse may be expressed verbally or non-verbally. Over time comments like “You’re ugly,” “You’re fat,” “You’re stupid,” “You can’t do that,” “It won’t work anyway, why bother,” “You don’t matter,” “Nothing you do will ever matter,” “No one really cares about you,” “You’re not important,” “You’re not good enough,” “You’ll never succeed” can seriously weaken and even destroy our self-image and self-esteem. This is especially true in the case of children and others who are not emotionally strong enough to defend themselves. Children have psychically open energy fields and they accept what ‘big people’ say about them as absolute truth. Eventually they internalize these abusive statements and start repeating them to themselves. (more…)
