Balance your Heart Chakra

FOURTH CHAKRA (HEART) – AIR

The fourth chakra is located near your physical heart in the center of the chest. This center, when awakened and healthy, governs your capacity to have compassion, forgiveness, understanding, generosity, empathy, caring and love, for self and others. The heart chakra is the domain of human intimacy; it activates affection, warmth, nurturing, friendship, kindness, patience, and familiarity. On an energetic level, it serves as the gateway from the lower ego or physical self, to the higher soul or spiritual self. The heart is the most important organ in the body, so is the fourth chakra, your spiritual heart center, the most important energy chakra in your psychic make-up. This is because love is the greatest human power we are given and the highest channel of life force available to us.

The heart chakra brings about harmony, healthy, and a spiritual insight. When the heart chakra is healthy, you begin to love yourself in a deeply compassionate and unconditional way opening the door for you to extend such love outward. The heart chakra is about focused on giving and receiving love without hesitation.

A Deficient Heart Chakra

If your heart chakra is deficient, you shy away from intimacy. You tend to be more withholding, and intentionally push people away when they get too close. When the heart is deficient, the world cannot enter, and you isolate yourself and disconnect from your sources of love. In such an energetic paralysis, everything feels threatening, leaving you on guard. You become critical, suspicious, and defensive which only exacerbates your problem. Having a deficient heart chakra sets you up for rejection. Because of your inaccessibility, people feel unsafe around you and naturally put up defenses of their own. You may even be paranoid and perceive the world as against you.

The healthy heart chakra is

  • Empathic
  • Generous
  • Nurturing
  • Understanding
  • Listens
  • Acceptance
  • Affectionate
  • Kind
  • Patient
  • Laughs easily

Actions to take to support your heart chakra:

  • Practice an inner smile
  • Volunteer your time to an organization you feel drawn to.
  • Forgive someone that you have held a grudge with, from a place of compassion, not emotion.
  • Do three favors for others today, without asking for appreciation or attention.
  • Create beauty and peace in your living environment.
  • Create an altar in your home. On it place special things that symbolize or represent what you love, such s pictures of those whom you love, and flowers, candy, beautiful crystals, talismans, anything that opens your heart and makes you feel peaceful and sweet inside. Visit your altar everyday and say prayers of gratitude and forgiveness.
  • Reach out and hug someone. Whenever you feel tense breathe in and say, “ah..,” several times until you relax and feel the love of God and the Universe for you.
  • Tell yourself that you are wonderful and lovable.

AFFIRMATIONS FOR THE HEART CHAKRA

  • I open my heart with compassion and love and accept myself and others as they are.
  • I am filled with the power of love and restored to wholeness.
  • My heart sings with pure joy.
  • I am cradled in the arms of God’s love. I am beautiful, God loves me. Life is beautiful. All is well.
  • I ask forgiveness and forgive all that blocks my heart, known and unknown, past and present.
