Sixth Chakra Imbalances

The sixth chakra is also known as the brow chakra, or the third eye. It is located between the eyebrows, and influences the entire upper portion of the head from the top of the forehead to the tip of the nose. It influences our ability to analyze, think, reason, perceive, understand, discern, dream, imagine and visualize. This chakra, when healthy and fully open also opens up the psychic gift of clairvoyance. On the color spectrum, this chakra resonates with the color indigo blue. This chakra governs our inner vision and imagination, one of our greatest powers.
On a physical level the sixth chakra affects the head, the eyes, all the sense organs, the brain, and the nervous system. It operates in conjunction with the pituitary gland and enhances our memory, our dream state and our ability to learn intellectually and to understand the nature of the world around us.
If the sixth chakra is deficient, or blocked, you may suffer from headaches, dizziness, eyestrain, weak vision, or have difficulty concentrating or focusing. You may also have such afflictions as attention deficit disorder. On an emotional level, a deficient sixth chakra may cause problems with your imagination, leaving you delusional or unimaginative. It might also cause you to over- analyze, be too literal, and disconnecting with the more subtle non-physical energies of life. A person whose sixth chakra is blocked, may have great difficulty seeing beyond their own fears.
A Healthy Sixth Chakra
When our sixth chakra is healthy, it gives us ability to see life from a deeper, more creative, and spiritual perspective. A healthy sixth chakra acts as our guiding light in life, giving us the ability to see solutions, be optimistic, objective, and clear-headed in all circumstances. Our sixth chakra is where we imagine. When healthy we imagine in creative ways. When deficient, we imagine fearful things.
When our sixth chakra is healthy, our imagination flows freely to create positive and inventive solutions for us. Because our imaginations create the world we live in, the sixth chakra is the gateway to your reality as you experience it.
When the sixth chakra is open and healthy, you activate a second sight called insight. When this aspect of seeing is in place, we begin to notice the similarities human beings share rather than focus on what appear to be our differences. This opens the door to more tolerance, understanding, and compassion.
A Deficient Sixth Chakra
One of the signs of a deficient sixth chakra is the tendency to be excessively intellectual and unimaginative. In this case one focuses exclusively on the physical world, and ignores or denies the more subtle, spiritual aspects and complexities of the human experience. This causes one to “miss the point” with others, or not see them on a deeper level, which can frustrate those around the deficient one and cause them to back away.
A deficient sixth chakra also causes one to see things through dark colored glasses, expecting the worst in others and life, and projecting their fears onto those around them.
A deficient sixth chakra also causes one to be unaware of how others see them, or perceives how others see them inaccurately. This causes a person to be overly defensive and suspicious of others and life. It’s all very gloomy.
Dreams
The sixth chakra governs our dream world, both awake and asleep. This is the place where we envision during the day and where we travel at night. When healthy you see many new ideas all the time, and have wonderful and colorful dreams at night. In fact, focusing on your dreams helps to strengthen this chakra when deficient. Try keeping a dream journal to help you do this. Or, if you are not inclined to write things down, at least you can try to talk about your dreams more often. This helps just as well as writing them down can in strengthening the sixth chakra.
One of the greatest signs healthy sixth chakra is being clairvoyance. This includes the ability to see auras, and even probable future events. Clairvoyance is the ability to see the
spiritual and energetic worlds as easily as the physical worlds, including being able to see another intention. It is common for a person with a healthy sixth chakra to think in pictures, and see right through other people and into their true motives in life. They frequently say, “I see what you mean,” because they do.
When the sixth chakra is healthy it brings:
Improved Perception
Healthy Discernment
Active and positive Imagination
Vivid Dreams
Sharp Memory
Frequent Daydreams
Clairvoyance
Lucid Insight
Open mindedness
Ability to Visualize
